Online Video: From Eyeballs to Emotional Connections

On October 8th, Teads and Brand Republic held a session on online video for in Covent Garden, London. Brand Sessions, managed by Brand Republic (BR), are a series of events designed to attract leading brands and bring together a collection of presentations to educate and debate key industry topics.

The morning began with Justin Taylor, UK MD hosting a breakfast roundtable with brands representatives, discussing ad blocking using our latest Advertising Matters campaign. Big thanks to those who got up that bit earlier to attend this session!

Just after 9am, the session kicked off to an audience of brands and clients, where Jonathan Shannon, Acting Editor at Brand Republic introduced the first keynote of the day from Kate Dale, Strategic Lead, Brand and Digital at Sport England. Kate spoke about the strategy and distribution behind the award-winning campaign #ThisGirlCan. Following this was an engaging panel with Kim De Ruiter (Samsung Europe) and Annalisa Gentili (AMV BBDO) who spoke and a session on video content creation with James Drake (PistonHeads).

Closing the day was Justin, who provided the golden rules to succeed in video advertising. Covering both content and distribution, it emphasised distribution across all channels and how to engage, not enrage.
