Our next working mother named is Cristina Valbuena, the Marketing Director of Spain.
1. Tell us about your journey to, and within, Teads
This is going to be my 4th year at Teads. I was hired as an Ebuzzing member and it became Teads 2 weeks after. It´s been an incredible journey where I have seen the incredible capacity of a very young company to move and adapt within a constantly evolving market. I´m in charge of the Marketing team in Spain. One of the things I like most about my role is that we do many different things and work together with all the teams. One day we are writing an article, the other day analyzing advertising investment within the automotive sector and the following looking for a photobooth for an event… Never get bored. Our team is little, we are only 2 and Aida is my best half on the journey.
2. What does being a working mother mean to you?
It is like being on a rollercoaster: exciting, fast, a bit scaring and always fun. You sometimes complain but you never want to jump off.
3. What woman inspires you and why?
Many close women inspire me. My mother with her capacity to never give up, my daughter with her energy and joy of life, my grandmother with her patience, my colleague for having the courage to follow her dreams, my friends for demonstrating that crazy ideas also could work…. as well as many men have also inspired me as much as women.
4. If you could go back and give your teenage self advice for the future, what would it be?
Look inside yourself to find what most motivates you and try to earn a living with it. That´s a treasure I don´t often see in peoples lives.
5. What is the most memorable piece of advice you ever received?
I once had a boss who always told the team to “bring out the Mrs. WhatIf” what means, always ask yourself questions about what you are doing and the different alternatives that could happen. As you do in the chess game before making a move.
6. Within the next year, what do you wish to accomplish?
Try to achieve the right balance in a share of time in between each area of my life.
7. What is your biggest wish/hope for the next generation of successful women?
My wish is for men to really assume the 50% of their role as a parent. That would really impact on the women success.
